Simple Ways to Build your Own Outdoor Brick Fireplace
Here are some simple ways for you to own your own Brick Fireplace:
• Choose a perfect place in your front yard. Clean it from shrubs, plants and debris.
• The face of the fireplace must be opposite to the wind direction; also never place it under trees or electric pole.
• Excavate an area of about 4″x4″ and align 6 inches wooden forms to cover all the sides of that square.
• Fill the hole with about 3 inches of mixed cement.
• The base is ready; provide a slope from the back of the fireplace to the front side.
• Completely dry the cement for a day or two.
• Wooden frame of three 2 x 4 inches sizes wooden forms is necessary and join them with each other using a nail gun.
• The bricks must be positioned on the outdoor fireplace mantel.
• Using mortar, fix the bricks.
• Construct a plywood frame to fit into the firebox. Two 2 x 4 inches frames can be used to close out the frame.
• It is necessary to spray water on the bricks before a day of installation. Position the bricks in the bottom of the fireplace without any trench mortar.
• Draw a layout of the outsides of the bricks. Take out the bricks and load the inside of the tracing with a layer of mortar.
• Position the bricks again on the mortar, start from the corner, construct up the walls of your desired height.
• Load each layer of the bricks and residual blank spaces, with ½ inch of mortar.
• Attach a piece of stainless steel sheet on the top of the wall (for covering the fireplace).
• Cover the steel sheet with the mortar and put bricks and hit them with delicate hand. Let the mortar dry totally, and then begin your outdoor brick fireplace for use.
